January Prayer Requests

Starting this year, we are going to list things that you can be praying for us for. We will try and list these at the start of each month. So, here is our list of prayer requests for January:

1. Safe travels…We have been in the city for the past 3 weeks, but will leave for our home in Dartsendo (where the guesthouse is) on Thursday. Tamara and the boys will fly to Chengdu and then take a bus the final 7 or 8 hours. I will begin the long 3 or 4 day drive back with a short-term team that is here. This time of year the roads can be icy and snowy. Pray with us that all of us arrive safely in Dartsendo.

2. The guesthouse is currently closed for the winter low season. The next month we will be working hard to clean the entire guesthouse and do some painting and maintenance work. Pray that we get everything finished by the time the guesthouse reopens in early March.

3. It is now mid-winter and temperatures across the Tibetan Plateau are frigid. This morning in the city the temperature was -5F (-21C) and out on the grasslands it was -20F (-29C) In Dartsendo it will be slightly warmer outside compared to the city, but we will not have heat in our apartment. Pray that the pipes in our apartment will not freeze and that we will stay warm over the next month.

4. We need to hire 2 or 3 full-time workers for the guesthouse as soon as possible. Pray with us that we will find the right people that God wants to work with us. Since we will be with these people everyday, we will have plenty of opportunities to minister and to share the G.spel with them.

5. Pray that the guesthouse will be used as a tool to minister and love every person who walks through the door…whether they are customers or our staff.

These Tibetan pilgrims were walking from their hometown to a large monastery about 90 miles away. Every 3 steps they would prostrate all the way to the ground. It was snowing that day with a temperature of -5F and a windchill of around -20F.

Thank you all for keeping our family and our ministry among the Tibetan people in your prayers! We hope that all of you are doing well!

Blessings!
